Temporary Night-Time Closure of A12 Hacheston Northbound On-Slip

19 March 2026

Residents are advised of a temporary road closure affecting the A12 Hacheston northbound on-slip.

Sizewell C (Nuclear Generating Station) intends to implement the closure to allow for essential surfacing works associated with the delivery of the Southern Park & Ride. Other coordinated works may also take place during this period.

Changes to Household Recycling and Waste Management

19 March 2026

East Suffolk Council is introducing significant changes to waste and recycling services. New bins will be delivered between February and May and the new system will start in June. Each household will receive a calendar and detailed information pack in May.

Suffolk Council Elections

County Council elections will take place on Thursday 7th May. Due to planned local government reorganisation, with Suffolk moving to a unitary authority structure, those elected are likely to only serve a two-year term.

Reminder: Please return your Community Emergency Plan Surveys

We would like to remind all residents who have received a Community Emergency Plan survey to please complete and return it as soon as possible.  The survey was at the back of the Parish Council newsletter which was recently delivered to houses across the village. The response rate so far has been very low, and without sufficient information from households we are unable to develop an effective plan that reflects the needs and resources of our community.
