A planning application that has been submitted for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on land directly south of Wickham Market Substation, The Street, Hacheston.

This is likely to be of interest to several people in the village, so Hacheston Parish Council will be holding a planning meeting to discuss the proposal at:

Hacheston Village Hall

The application is:

DC/25/4923/FUL | Construction of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), with associated infrastructure, access and landscaping | Land Directly South Of Wickham Market Substation The Street Hacheston Suffolk IP13 0DZ

We have invited the applicant to attend the meeting so that residents can ask questions and better understand what is being proposed. Residents are welcome to talk for up to 3 minutes during the public forum at the start of the meeting.

East Suffolk Council is the local planning authority and will make the final decision on this application. Hacheston Parish Council is a statutory consultee, meaning we can comment on the application but we do not determine the outcome. Residents are strongly encouraged to submit their own comments directly to East Suffolk Council as part of the formal consultation process. The consultation deadline has been extended to 19th February to allow our meeting.

This meeting is an opportunity for local people to hear more about the scheme, raise questions and help the Parish Council form its response.

 Thank you,

Hacheston Parish Council
