The Parish Council would like to inform residents that Suffolk County Council has now published the Section 19 Flood Investigation Report for Hacheston and Parham. This report has been produced following Storm Babet and outlines what happened, contributing factors, and recommendations to help reduce future risk.

You can view the full report here:  SCC Flood Investigation Reports

In addition, Suffolk County Council has released a new Flood Smart Living Handbook, a practical guide aimed at helping communities, households, and landowners better prepare for and manage flood risks. The handbook includes a range of useful measures tailored to our local area and is designed to support individuals and communities in building greater flood resilience. The handbook can be found on the same webpage as the Flood Report, as a separate link.

We encourage all residents—especially those in flood-prone areas—to read the handbook alongside the flood investigation report. Both documents offer valuable advice on how to reduce risk and stay safe during extreme weather events.

If you have any questions about the report or the guidance, please feel free to contact the Parish Council or Suffolk County Council directly.
